I love food. For me, food is a way to bring people together, and personally, I find this to be one of the most important callings in life, connecting others. (Hippie much? YES)
My love for food started at home, I come from a big healthy Jewish family, our mothers (and fathers! ) start cooking for Friday night’s feast already on Wednesday and always fill the table with an abundance of love in the form of soft, sweet challah bread, a big assortment of salads, fish, poultry and meat. The more, the merrier (and leftovers to last for the entire week 😉 )
It took me some time to follow my journey from someone who loves to eat, to someone who loves to create food. My passion really burst out when my partner and I moved in together a few years back, some urge in me just brought me to experiment and try to produce the homey feeling I have known from my family home, the smell of something cooking in the oven, and a beautiful dinner table all set up for a meal. Since we’re still a small family (just the two of us if you don’t count cats and dogs), we love inviting friends and strangers over to sit around the table together, celebrating connection.
Growing up in Israel, living in the US and now Netherlands, my recipes are influenced by many different cultures and traditions.
In this blog, you will find tested recipes for starters, main courses, side dished and desserts. Some recipes are Vegan or Vegetarian, and will be categorized this way under the recipe index. All recipes are my own, unless mentioned otherwise, and will be coupled with high quality photo’s describing the dish and sometimes the full preparation. I also added a menu planner, this is a great tool I use myself all the time, which helps you plan an entire meal for any occasion based on your preferences.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me through email or comments to let me know if you have any questions or recommendations, I’d love to connect!
Love,
Keren
